by John M. Vermillion (Author)

With only two weeks from retirement as Superintendent of the US Military Academy at West Point, Marine Lieutenant General Simon Pack is looking forward to some time in his secluded Montana cabin with his devoted dog Chesty. The arrival of a threatening note comes as a surprise.

Signed only "EKW," the letter demands Pack keep a low profile after retirement or suffer some dark consequence. Pack gives the letter some thought, but the only change he makes in his plans is to add his personal weapons to his packing.

After delivering a passionate graduation address at West Point that ruffles the feathers of the politically correct, Pack receives a second missive from EKW, this one declaring the Marine is "on a path of destruction." The discovery of a GPS tracking device on his jeep confirms that the mysterious EKW is a potential threat.

With America under attack from without and within, many look to pragmatic, patriotic men like Pack for solutions. Others see only a threat to their own political and economic control.

Powerful, frightened men are dangerous, but so is Simon Pack. If his country needs him, he'll make whatever sacrifice is necessary.
