But beyond this, and much more, Yeghishe's History is a panegyric of the saints who were martyred in the course of the war. The History covers the thirty-six-year period from AD 428 to 464 in seven chapters. Volume II covers the period from the Battle of Avarayr to its aftermath in 464.
