A beauty to duality: Melancholic Enchantment is a collection of poems that expresses the confusion felt after heartbreak. One minute you want to relive every good moment & the next you want to forget it all. Perception & hindsight change our existing memories, opening our eyes to what we tried to avoid - the flaws of a relationship. Finally acknowledging a relationship's flaws does not make letting go easy. Nuanced memories make moving forward painful, the details of each indelible moment seeming more lucid as time passes. Focusing in on the reality of a relationship allows infatuation to fade, perception to change, & hindsight to light the way to your growth. Growth is lovely - something so lovely should be treated delicately. In order to let go, you need to grant yourself grace. Never feel guilty for relapsing on memories. Take your time. Melancholic Enchantment validates everything you go through after heartbreak. Hopefully the ups and downs bring you to a place of peace, a place of strength & a place of self-love.
