The last years have seen exciting developments in the areas of Databases. When you book some travel, use ATM machines, buy something, pick some packet that arrived by mail, go to the bank, search for an apartment or use the web, data management is always present in the backstage. This is a textbook on databases and development of data applications. It teaches the foundations of the relational and entity-relationship models, SQL and database design. It also teaches how to design and develop applications using some programming language. But, most importantly, all concepts are extensively illustrated with examples, exercises, solutions and solving steps. This textbooks is very suitable for use in undergrad or grad courses.
