Outer Space at the End of Time is a Christian metaphysical romance of the final epoch of history, in which four young Christian intellectuals ("the Metaphysicals") are called to a mission among the stars whose meaning is gradually revealed en route. Set in the 2040s, the narrative evokes an "Eliatic Restoration" of spiritual traditions, especially the Christian, prior to the appearance of Antichrist. The story is richly embroidered with theological and philosophical threads from Christian tradition, as well as with scenes of liturgical worship. The invention of the starship to convey the Metaphysicals through their appointed mission involves a unique science fiction technology with a decidedly metaphysical twist.
