Deena Bouknight is a journalist for local, national, and international publications, as well as a contributor to non-fiction books and an author of fictional literary novels. Broken Shells was her first novel. She teaches literature and writing at a private school and at workshops, and she is a mentor for at-risk children and a board member for Haiti Under God.
