The forces of The Blackness are setting the board as Adversus are slowly released from the Void. With the knowledge of a Golden Age, the Adversus are unmatched by anyone from Earth. Luigh, Aislinn, Farr, and Rowan, however, are not from this planet. Luigh and Aislinn learn the ways of Medeis, a power unlocked from an age long past, from Maia as they make their way to where all females with the ability goes, the Spire in Occursum. Rowan, also possessing the power of Medeis but without a teacher, fears he will get everyone he cares about killed by The Blackness, the Adversus hunting him, or by himself. Farr is torn between his newfound love with the Caitheness, Damara, and his friends. Maia, struggling to keep the group together long enough for them to reach the safety of the Spire, uses her knowledge of Ludas Latrun to manipulate them. War is coming. The Phoenix will rise again!
