He also very desperately needs to keep his job because it's the only thing paying for his Nanna's bills at the nursing home where she lives ever since she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.
He never thought he'd risk his job for anyone, let alone a grumpy ex-lawyer who turns his world upside down.
After Tatum finds out the ranch is in financial trouble because of a fire that burned all their crops, she wastes no time drawing up a business plan which ultimately has her and Aaron spending 24/7 together. The tension between them builds, but as soon as Tatum's dad finds out about Aaron's feelings, he gives him an ultimatum: he can either date Tatum or continue working at Silver Creek Ranch. Aaron can't lose his job, but he also can't manage to stay away from Tatum. And no matter how scared Tatum is of falling in love with someone, she doesn't want to fight her feelings for Aaron either.
